1) Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: you provide it to us, it’s collected automatically, and we receive it from partners you authorize.
- Account & Profile: Name, username, email, password (hashed), and any optional profile details you add (e.g., avatar, bio).
- User Content: Photos, outfits, captions, comments, likes, and event/chat messages you post. If you upload images, the images and related metadata may be processed to identify items.
- Device & Usage: IP address, device type, OS, app version, language, time zone, and log data about how you use the Service (pages/screens viewed, taps/clicks, session duration).
- Cookies/Local Storage: We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure site/app performance. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
- Identifiers: Mobile advertising identifiers (e.g., IDFA/AAID) if enabled by your device settings.
- Payments: If you purchase features, payments are processed by platform providers (e.g., Apple, Google) or a payment processor. We receive transaction confirmations (date/time, amount) but not full card numbers.
- Contacts & Camera (with permission): If you grant permission, we access your camera/photo library to let you upload images. We do not access your contacts unless you explicitly opt in to friend-finding features.
2) How We Use Information
- Provide the Service: Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, enable core features (posting, commenting, events), and provide customer support.
- AI-Powered Features: Identify items in images, suggest outfits, and power chat-based assistance. See AI Features & Third-Party Processing.
- Improve & Personalize: Analyze how the Service is used, test changes, fix bugs, and personalize content (e.g., recommendations, discovery).
- Communications: Send transactional messages (e.g., password resets, updates). With consent or where permitted, send product news or surveys (opt-out anytime).
- Safety & Enforcement: Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, spam, fraud, violations of our Community Guidelines, or legal requests.
- Legal: Comply with applicable laws and enforce our agreements.
Email Marketing (Mailchimp)
When you subscribe to our waitlist or marketing emails, we collect your email address and your consent preferences. We use Mailchimp as our marketing platform to deliver those emails and manage subscriptions. By subscribing, you acknowledge your information will be transferred to Mailchimp for processing. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in our emails.
Learn more about Mailchimp’s privacy practices at mailchimp.com/legal.
3) AI Features & Third-Party Processing
Closia uses trusted third-party AI service providers to deliver certain features (such as image recognition and chat assistance). When you use these features, your inputs (e.g., text prompts, images and related metadata) may be securely transmitted to those providers solely to generate the requested output and returned to the app.
For transparency, our AI providers may include AI service providers (such as OpenAI, LLC). We do not sell your inputs or outputs. We take steps to limit what we send, and we encourage you not to include sensitive information in prompts or uploads. Outputs may be inaccurate; please review results before sharing.
4) How We Share Information
- Service Providers: We share information with vendors who help us operate the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, anti-abuse, payment processing, and the AI service providers described above). They are bound by contractual confidentiality and data-use limits.
- Legal/Protection: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or Closia.
- Business Transfers: If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
- With Your Direction: We share information when you ask us to (e.g., linking a partner integration or sharing to social networks).
5) Data Retention
We retain information only as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated content; we’ll delete or de-identify data unless we must retain certain records (e.g., for security, fraud prevention, or legal requirements).
6) Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use strong passwords, keep your app updated, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized activity.
7) Your Rights & Choices
- Access, Update, Delete: Manage basic account details in-app or contact us to exercise access/rectification/erasure rights.
- Opt-Out: You can opt out of non-essential emails via unsubscribe links. Control mobile ad identifiers in your device settings (IDFA/AAID).
- Cookies: Control cookies in your browser. Disabling essential cookies may affect site functionality.
- Region-Specific Rights: If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or certain U.S. states (e.g., CA, CO, CT, UT, VA), you may have additional rights over personal data. Contact us to submit a request; we will verify and respond as required by law.
Legal Bases (EEA/UK only)
Where applicable, we process personal data under these legal bases: contract necessity (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (e.g., safety, improvement), consent (e.g., certain marketing or device permissions), and legal obligation.
8) International Data Transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. When we transfer personal data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards (for example, standard contractual clauses) as required by applicable law.
9) Children’s Privacy
Closia is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in this age group. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10) “Do Not Track”
We currently do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. You can manage cookies in your browser and mobile ad preferences in your device settings.
11) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (e.g., in-app or on the website) and update the “Effective date” above.
12) Contact Us
If you have questions or requests regarding this Policy or your data, contact us at support@closiaapp.com.
