Privacy Policy

How we handle your data.

This Privacy Policy explains how Closia ("Closia," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile app and related services (the "Service").

1) Information We Collect

We collect information you provide, information generated by your use of the Service, and limited information from the platforms/providers you choose for sign-in and payments.

Account and profile information

  • Email address and authentication data needed to sign in (including email/password or federated sign-in via Apple or Google).
  • Profile details such as username, display name, avatar, bio, account type (personal/brand), style preferences (for example, vibes), and optional profile attributes such as gender.
  • Subscription status fields used to determine premium access.

User content and social activity

  • Closet items, item metadata, uploaded images, generated images, outfits/canvas posts, captions, comments, likes, saved posts, and collections.
  • Chat and social features data, including direct/group messages, attachments, mentions, replies, event details (if you include them), follower/following relationships, and blocks.
  • Safety reports you submit (for example, reason/details) and moderation appeals you submit.

AI and feature-specific inputs/outputs

  • Images and related metadata used for item detection, background removal, virtual try-on, and product-image generation/beautification.
  • Inputs you provide to AI-assisted item analysis features (for example, image + prompt payloads).
  • Try-on photos you save and viewer-specific try-on results.
  • Product URLs you paste for ingestion and enrichment.

Usage, analytics, and diagnostics

  • Search analytics such as queries, applied filters, result counts, and click interactions.
  • Feed analytics such as impressions, interactions (for example, likes/saves/clicks), session IDs, and source context.
  • Operational diagnostics such as moderation outcomes, push delivery attempts, and anti-abuse/safety-related records.

Notification and device data

  • Push notification data including APNs token, platform, app version, notification preferences, and a device identifier used to manage push-token ownership.
  • Basic device/app telemetry needed to operate and secure the Service.

Purchases

  • Subscription and transaction confirmation information from Apple StoreKit (for example, product ID/entitlement state). We do not receive full payment card numbers.

Permissions

  • Camera and photo library access (if granted) to capture/select images.
  • Photo library add permission (if granted) when you choose to save generated images to Photos.
  • Notification permission (if granted) to send push notifications.
  • Microphone permission may appear due to the system camera interface; Closia does not record audio for core app features.

2) How We Use Information

  • Provide and maintain the Service (account creation/authentication, profiles, closet, feed, search, chat, posting, and support).
  • Power AI-based features (item detection/classification, virtual try-on, moderation checks, and product-image generation).
  • Personalize and improve ranking/recommendation/search relevance and overall product performance.
  • Send transactional messages and push notifications based on your settings.
  • Enforce trust and safety rules (for example, moderation, abuse prevention, reports, and appeals).
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Email marketing

If you subscribe to marketing or waitlist communications, we process your email and consent preferences for those communications. You can unsubscribe at any time through the unsubscribe link.

3) AI Features and Third-Party Processing

Closia uses a combination of self-hosted models and third-party AI providers for specific features.

Depending on the feature, processing may include:

  • Google Vertex AI Virtual Try-On APIs (try-on image generation from user/product images).
  • Google Gemini APIs (for selected image-understanding or image-generation flows routed through our backend).
  • Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch APIs (for moderation checks on submitted content images).
  • Self-hosted/model-hosted inference services operated by us or on our cloud infrastructure (for example, clothing detection/embeddings and image-processing pipelines).

We send only the data needed to process your request, do not sell AI inputs/outputs, and apply access controls in our backend. AI outputs can be imperfect; review before sharing.

4) How We Share Information

We share information:

  • With service providers and infrastructure processors needed to run the Service (for example, backend hosting/database/storage, push delivery, AI processing, sign-in, and payment platforms).
  • With other users according to your sharing settings and product behavior (for example, profile visibility, posts shared to profile/friends, chat participants).
  • With trust and safety operations for moderation/report handling and enforcement.
  • When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transaction (subject to applicable law).

We do not sell personal information for money.

5) Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the Service, operate safety features, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

General retention approach

  • Account/profile data: retained while your account is active.
  • User content: retained until you delete it or your account is deleted, subject to legal/safety exceptions.
  • Try-on photos/results and similar feature data: retained until removed by you or as part of account deletion.
  • Operational logs/analytics/safety records: retained for a limited period appropriate to product operation, integrity, and legal compliance.

Account deletion

You can request account deletion in-app. We will delete or de-identify account-linked data unless we are required to keep specific records for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or abuse-enforcement reasons.

6) Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure; use strong credentials, keep your device/app updated, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.

7) Your Rights and Choices

You can:

  • Access/update profile details in-app.
  • Delete content and request account deletion.
  • Manage notification settings in-app and in iOS Settings.
  • Control camera/photos/notification permissions in device Settings.
  • Opt out of non-essential marketing emails via unsubscribe links.

Region-specific rights

Depending on where you live (for example, EU/EEA, UK, and certain U.S. states), you may have additional rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection/appeal rights. Contact us to submit requests.

EEA/UK legal bases

Where applicable, we process personal data under: contract necessity, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligation.

8) International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

9) Children's Privacy

Closia is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in that age range. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information.

10) Do Not Track and App Tracking

The app currently does not rely on third-party mobile ad identifiers for ad targeting (for example, IDFA-based ad profiling). We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy periodically. If changes are material, we will provide notice in-app or by other appropriate means and update the Effective date.
